The trials and tribulations of the frequent flyer

It seems like every time that I go to the airport, it gets worse and worse.

Over the last year, the price of an airline ticket has skyrocketed, they charge fees for everything, and security takes longer and longer to get through.

Then there’s the stress of getting to and from the airport. With the amount of money that you’re spending for your ticket, luggage fees, etc., it’s smart to try to save a few dollars by trying to get your own ride there and back. But imagine this: at the very last minute, your ride cancels on you-a family emergency. Or maybe it’s car trouble. Perhaps an appointment ran longer than expected.


Sure, you could also drive your own vehicle each way and park in an airport parking lot. You would spend upwards of $20 a day to park in long term parking (plus convenience fees, valet fees, gas surcharge fees). You then have to drag your luggage through the parking lot, on and off of the shuttle, and into the terminal. And that is assuming that you are able to find a parking lot that isn’t full (which is next to impossible around the busy holiday travel season)! By taking your own vehicle there, you risk vandalism, or even auto theft.

After a stressful trip back home, full of delays, the last thing that anyone wants to do is drag their luggage back out to the parking lot to find their vehicle damaged or worse, gone.
